Description:
Probably one of the most difficult Par 5 holes you’ll ever play- not because of length (597 yards), but because of a classic figure “S” styled fairway. The drive is one of the most critical of placement shots required on this hole. A row of sand traps protects the left side from the tree line while a lateral hazard of wetlands run the length of the right fairway. Crossing through the middle of the fairway, a wetland area causes a slight distraction while you focus on the bunkers on the left edge and the continued tree line on the right side. Green side bunker on the left and trouble behind the green will make even the skilled golfer breathe deeply.
How to Play It:
The start of a tough 4-hole stretch begins with a very tough par 5. Leave the driver in the bag to protect from hitting it thru the fairway and into the hazard. This hole does not play as long as yardage indicates. The tee shot only requires to land 200-220 yards out which will leave you another 200 yard shot to get to prime approach shot yardage. The third shot will be down hill from 120 to 160 yards out. The green is two tiered and protected by bunkers left. If you miss the green make sure it is short. Going long will cost you a stroke or two.
